Paper Card Case | Envelope Packaging That Conveys the Brand’s World
A brand’s story, even in a small package.
Project Overview
We received a consultation from a school backpack (randoseru) brand for envelope-style packaging that could convey the brand’s world for a small novelty item — a card case.
Packtoss proposed an envelope design based around vivid brand colors, with the product’s silhouette shown as a dotted-line illustration. This configuration conveys both the enjoyment of unboxing and the brand’s world at the same time.
The Customer’s Challenge
- Wanted to convey the brand’s character even with a small novelty item
- Wanted a design that instantly communicated the product’s use and contents
- Wanted a memorable package while keeping costs down
Packtoss’s Proposal
We adopted a paper envelope structure and used printing to express the brand color, logo, and product silhouette, achieving a highly visible design while keeping mold costs down. Its simple structure, glued on three sides, also takes cost and mass-producibility into consideration.
This design led to the following results.
- Brand expression through printing alone
- A structure that also works for small novelty items
- An efficient design that keeps mass-production costs down
Key Points of This Case
Brand Expression Through Printing
Without using complex processing, the brand’s world is effectively conveyed through printed design alone.

A Simple Envelope Structure
The simple structure, glued on three sides, keeps costs down while supporting mass production.
Applicable to Novelties and Small Products in General
This can be applied not only to card cases but also to small novelty items in general, such as keychains and stickers.
