The Role of the Individual Box
The individual box is the innermost box wrapping each single product. In addition to protecting it during transport, it is responsible for in-store appeal and the unboxing experience. Unlike an outer shipping box, its material, printing, and structure must be selected on the premise that consumers will handle it directly.
How to Choose the Material
Coated duplex board has a white surface with high print reproducibility, making it widely used for general cosmetics, food, and general merchandise. It is a standard choice with an excellent balance of cost and quality.
Cardboard (paperboard) is suited to heavy items requiring strength, while white paperboard is suitable when a premium feel is prioritized. When environmental appeal is needed, recycled paper or FSC-certified paper is selected.
Format and Print Specifications
Representative formats include the caramel box (tuck-in style), the reverse tuck bottom, and the one-touch bottom (American lock). The one-touch bottom is advantageous when reducing assembly labor, while the caramel box is advantageous when reducing cost.
Offset 4-color printing is standard. Combining finishes such as matte or gloss laminate, foil stamping, and embossing can enhance the texture without significantly increasing cost.
