Break-Resistant 3D See-Through Boxes with PET-G Blow Molding

Project Overview
Our customer wanted a see-through package that shows the product inside. Packtoss proposed PET-G blow molding to combine high transparency with an impact-resistant 3D shape.
The Customer’s Challenge
- Wanted a see-through package that shows the product as it is.
- Standard A-PET clear cases tend toward simple shapes that don’t stand out on shelf.
- A-PET material is prone to impact damage and breakage.
Packtoss’s Proposal
Typical see-through individual packaging made from A-PET clear cases is limited by the molding process to simple box shapes, leaving shelf appeal and impact resistance as ongoing challenges. Packtoss proposed combining PET-G, a material with high transparency and strong impact resistance, with blow molding, which allows for free-form 3D shapes. Because PET-G is a PET-based resin, the design also supports easier mono-material packaging.
This design delivered the following results.
- Improved shelf visibility and appeal through a 3D shape
- Achieved the see-through effect with PET-G’s high transparency while reducing the risk of impact damage
- Easier mono-material design, supporting recyclability and environmental considerations
